Smriti Irani REVEALS She Suffered Miscarriage On The Sets Of Kyuki Saas; Tells Ekta Kapoor, ‘Foetus Bacha Nahi, Warna Woh Bhi Dikha Deti’
Smriti Irani opens up about suffering a miscarriage while doing double shifts at Kyuki Saas Kabhi Bahu Thi and Ramayan!
Actress turned politician Smriti Irani in a new interview spoke about suffering a miscarriage while doing double shifts during the shooting of ‘Kyuki Saas Kabhi Bahu Thi.’ She recalled how one day she started bleeding on the sets and was rushed to a hospital. Smriti revealed she took an auto and on reaching the hospital she told a nurse to admit her immediately. Irani also mentioned that she showed proof of her miscarriage to Ekta Kapoor as a co-actor bitched about her to the producer, calling her miscarriage fake.
Speaking with Neelesh Misra, Smriti shared, “I was on the set (of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi) and I told them I am not well enough to shoot and asked to be allowed to go home. But still, I worked, and by the time they let me go, it was evening already. The doctor suggested I go for sonography. On my way, I started bleeding, and I remember it was raining." Irani stopped an auto and asked the driver to take her to the hospital. She reached the hospital, and a nurse came running to her and ask for an autograph, while she was bleeding. she gave her the autograph, and asked, ‘Admit kar loge (can you admit me), I think I am miscarrying.”
She went to reveal that she returned to Kyuki sets a day after hospitalization as he have to pay EMIs for her house. The following day she showed all her medical papers to Ekta to prove it. For the unversed, Smriti Irani became a popular household name with her brilliant portrayal of Tulsi Virani in Ekta Kapoor's production ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ which earned many accolades and instant fame. She is also known for playing the epic character Sita in Zee TV's Ramayan with Nitish Bharadwaj. Irani then moved to Politics and in 2003 she joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. The following year, she was appointed vice-president of the Maharashtra Youth Wing in 2004. She is currently administrating the Ministries of Women and Child Development and is a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha, representing Amethi, Uttar Pradesh.
